GNT scientists at the NYMC Integrative Health Symposium

On July 19, 2026, two GNT R&D scientists presented alongside clinicians and researchers from NYU, UCSF, Massachusetts General Hospital, the NIH, and other institutions.

The symposium was chaired by GNT co-founder Dr. Xiu-Min Li and explored how rigorous modern science can strengthen integrative approaches to allergic and inflammatory diseases.

Quality control of herbal medicines using bioanalytical techniques

Dr. Yang addressed natural variability between harvests, processing differences, and the chemical complexity of multi-herb formulas. He described an end-to-end quality program spanning raw-herb authentication; HPTLC, HPLC, and LC-MS fingerprinting; heavy-metal, pesticide, and microbial testing; and in vitro and in vivo confirmation of finished products.

Probiotics for food allergy treatment

Dr. Carnazza presented GNT’s work at the intersection of the gut microbiome and allergic disease. The research examines how microbial balance supports immune tolerance and explores combination approaches pairing probiotics and fermented foods with natural compounds such as berberine, xanthopurpurin, and arctigenin.
